Discover UBD Challenge – Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

The Discover UBD Challenge is open to all individuals aged 18 and above.
Participants must be physically fit to take part in the scavenger hunt and must not have any medical conditions that would prevent them from safely participating in the event.

2. Registration

All participants must register prior to the event through the official registration process.
The registration fee, if applicable, is non-refundable.
Registration is considered complete only upon receipt of payment and confirmation from the organisers.

3. Event Details

The Discover UBD Challenge is a half-day event that will take place at the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
The event will commence at 7.00 AM and conclude at 12.00 PM.
Participants are required to report to the designated starting point at least 30 minutes before the event begins.

4. Teams

Participants will compete in teams. Each team must consist of 4 members.
Teams may be pre-formed or assigned by the organisers.
All team members must remain together throughout the duration of the challenge.

5. Conduct and Safety

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner throughout the event.
Participants must adhere to all rules and guidelines provided by the organisers.
The University of Brunei Darussalam is a smoke-free and alcohol-free campus; participants must comply with all campus policies.
Participants are responsible for their own safety during the event and must exercise caution at all times.
Any reckless or dangerous behaviour may result in disqualification from the event.

6. Scavenger Hunt Rules

The challenge will involve completing a series of tasks and finding specific locations within the UBD campus.
All tasks must be completed in the order specified by the organisers.
Participants are not allowed to use motorised transportation during the event. Only walking or running is permitted.
The use of GPS devices or smartphones is allowed for navigation purposes only.

7. Disqualification

The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant or team found to be cheating, breaking the rules, or engaging in any unsportsmanlike conduct.
Disqualified participants will not be eligible for any prizes and may be asked to leave the event.

8. Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams based on the time of completion and accuracy of tasks completed.
In the event of a tie, the organisers will determine the winner based on additional criteria, which will be announced at the event.

9. Liability

Participants acknowledge that they are participating in the event at their own risk.
The organisers, including the University of Brunei Darussalam and all event sponsors, are not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages that may occur during the event.
Participants agree to waive any claims against the organisers arising from participation in the Discover UBD Challenge.

10. Photography and Media

By participating in the event, participants consent to being photographed or filmed by the organisers.
The organisers reserve the right to use any photos or videos taken during the event for promotional purposes without compensation to the participants.

11. Cancellation or Postponement

The organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather or other emergencies.
In the event of cancellation, participants will be informed promptly, and any applicable registration fees may be refunded or transferred to a rescheduled date.

12. Amendments

The organisers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes prior to the event.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for the Discover UBD Challenge, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
